What is the difference between REA/REN and broker?
Real estate agent (REA) or real estate negotiator(REN)is who registered with Board of Valuers, Appraisers, Estate Agents and Property Managers to handle the transaction of 3rd party’s properties. The Board of Valuers, Appraisers, Estate Agents and Property Managers was set up on 1981. under the purview of the Ministry of Finance Malaysia.
While a broker is a person who handles the transaction of 3rd party’s properties without register with the Board of Valuers, Appraisers, Estate Agents, and Property Managers. Hence the risk of dealing with a broker is much higher.
